Dear Nic and Kate,

I never wanted to reach out to you, but from the very first moment Nic answered my call (in the evening) I knew everything was going to be ok. Even though I was a mess, Nic was so kind and understanding and gently explained the options to me. I slept so much better that night after talking with you.

And then the very next day, the wonderful Dr Kate arrived, and if Mary Poppins is "practically perfect in every way" then Kate is the Mary Poppins of the veterinary world. Kate was compassionate, patient, articulate, loving,  and journeyed through our pain with us to the point where we had peace in our hearts about having to say goodbye to our beloved Charlie. 

Kate gently and clearly explained the next steps in such a beautiful way that it was like our family had known Kate for years, instead of just a short time. There was no sense of rush, or other matters being more important, than just being present in that moment. 

Kate handled the sedation procedure beautifully with so much care and professionalism.

Charlie was simply in the best hands we could ever have asked for. Her final moments were ones of love surrounded by her family, and under Kate's exceptional care.
